DAY 336: Model Y & Sparky Update

I started typing this post over a week ago, but going to leave it mostly as is with a few updates.

It's a new world today. The COVID-19 pandemic is still in its early stages, but Canada is taking all precautions to prevent a widespread infection beyond our health care capacities. And so we are under semi-quarantine, being encouraged to practice social distancing, and to work from home where possible.

Our office has sent as many staff members home with their work computers for the next 3 weeks, and we are into week 2. We are working from home safe behind our doors, and there is no travel anywhere except for essential reasons.

It seems almost ironic that during a time when I am dishing out money under increasing financial strain to hold myself over until my body shop receives the green light from ICBC to repair my car, I now find myself being able to go without a rental vehicle. And to add to the fortune, gas prices have dropped considerably in the past two weeks when I had to fill up with gas for the first time in months!!

Update: Reports of gas stations with gas below $1!

While I do miss Sparky, I would still miss him, knowing that I would not be able to drive around freely every day.

And it just dawned on me that I will be celebrating my 1 year anniversary of my Tesla delivery likely under quarantine, and with my car still in the shop. That saddens me. But oh the celebration afterwards will be glorious, I promise!

This is actually Day 33 since the accident, and I still feel the pain of missing my Tesla. But I did hear that about a week ago, ICBC did approve the estimate. The shop hasn't gotten back to me about a courtesy car, but I assume they are attempting to order parts even though the Fremont Factory has been shut down. I wonder if parts are even available.

But in other news... the Model Y deliveries have begun! Wow!

I want to talk more about the Model Y, but I gotta get to bed and get ready for another day of working at home.  BLAH.

At least I'm enjoying some home cooked food. I'm so glad I know how to cook!

Today's Odometre Reading: (no change) 43,631 kms
(the truth is, I can't see my odometre and I know their holding lot is located a couple blocks from thei shop, so this is probably not perfectly accurate)
